The parents and educators at Suquamish Elementary School face a growing problem of engaging students of various backgrounds, culture and economic, many of whom are spending an increasin amount of time in front of video and television screens. We also recognize the huge pressure put upon teachers to spend time teaching to a system of standardized tests, leaving them less time to help students build life skills and to develop confidence and trust in their own intuition and abilities.
